A walk from hidden Dean Village along the Water of Leith walkway to Edinburgh's port city of Leith, is only about 6 miles long but what an interesting walk! You'll also want to take extra time exploring Dean Village and the trendy Stockbridge area en route. But make sure you leave plenty of time to discover the interesting historical buildings in Leith as well. Leith is the old maritime centre of Edinburgh and steeped in shipping history. Its also a vibrant place to just hang out in hip restaurants, and cool bars by the water. You'll also want to check out the stylish retail shops as well
"The Water of Leith" is a 32 bar Strathspey for four couples in a four-couple longwise set from a collection of Scottish country dances to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the Edinburgh Branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society in 2014. The dances have all been filmed in the historic City Chambers located in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town - a UNESCO World Heritage site. We are very grateful to our Honorary Pres...

This is some B-Roll footage I took while checking out the flooding. I was asked by a news agency to capture some photos and video for them. I decided to put together some of the footage they didn't use or need due to various reasons. Some of it isn't the best but you get a decent idea of what was happening in Edinburgh and Leith that day.

Places to see in ( Edinburgh - UK ) Water of Leith Walkway The Water of Leith Walkway is a public footpath and cycleway that runs alongside the small river of the same name through Edinburgh, Scotland, from Balerno to Leith. The concept of a public path first appeared in 1949, but the necessary construction work was not begun until after 1973. Nowadays, Water of Leith Walkway provides access to many interesting sights, like the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and the Dean Gallery. Water of Leith Walkway starts next to Balerno High School and runs 12.25 miles (19.6 kilometres) to Leith. The path runs downhill, but the incline is so slight that it is barely perceptible. Approximately half a mile of the route is on roads, for the remainder the path runs alongside the Water of Leith,...
The Air-Pot container is just one part of a total growing system. To reap all its potential benefits it is essential to use a suitable compost mix and give the plant sufficient water. COMPOST Lack of aeration and poor drainage are big problems when growing in traditional containers. However no such problems exist with the Air-Pot system. Increased oxygenation means that the compost can be compacted in the containers without becoming anaerobic. More compost means more nutrient for the plant. WATER The same consideration must be given to irrigation and the delivery of fertilizer. The increased rate of growth and the much greater number of new white tipped roots means Air-Pot® grown plants demand more moisture and nutrient. Managing this demand is fundamental to the success of the system....
